Luis came to The Master's Seminary in 2018. Previously, he served as a missionary to Mexico City. After serving 4 years as a pastoral intern at Grace Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry Tolopilo, he was ordained and sent to the mission field in 2002. While in Mexico, he served 15 years as the pastor-teacher of Grace Christian Church and 16 as a professor at The Word of Grace Biblical Seminary which is associated with The Master's Academy International.

He contributed to The MacArthur Study Bible in Spanish as part of the translation team and as the final proofreader. Besides his responsibilities at The Master’s Seminary, Luis serves on the board of elders in the Spanish ministry of Grace Community Church and translates Dr. John MacArthur’s sermons into Spanish through Gracia a Vosotros.

Luis met his wife, Robin, at TMU and they have been blessed with three kids. He loves to understand the Scripture and help others understand and submit to it.

What is the best book you have ever read (besides the Bible)?

It's hard to nail it to one. What comes to mind is The Legacy of Sovereign Joy by John Piper.

If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you want with you?

A computer with Logos so I could study and prepare sermons, a good mattress, and a good pillow.

What is your favorite passage of Scripture and why?

Nehemiah 8 because it's a great example of the joy of understanding and submitting to Scripture.

What is a fun fact that most people don't know about you?

I could eat fish three times a day.
