The Center for Israeli Studies has a mandate to support the work of the church in Israel. There are, even today, faithful pastors in the land of Israel, diligently working to testify of the Good News according to the full counsel of Scripture. Our aim is to come alongside these national leaders and their “Timothys” in their labors and support them wherever we may.
The center’s operations include:
We desire for Israelis to be trained at TMS Los Angeles for pastoral ministry, as well as to be prepared as trainers of pastors themselves for when they return home.
We aim to provide resources and translations (including faculty publications) for pastors and leaders faithfully serving in Israel.
Visits to Israel
We want more frequent, affordable opportunities for TMS students and alumni to visit Israel. Such trips aid in biblical exegesis and geography and increase awareness of the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ within the Israeli church.
David, in the Psalms, says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love you” (122:6). We understand that true peace will one day come through the Lord Jesus Christ and the total restoration of Israel (Zech 12:10; Rom 11:26). As ministers of the Gospel we hold fast to that future hope and yet understand that we are not to be idle as we wait for that day. Reconciliation between God and man—whether Jewish or Gentile—comes by the hearing of the Word of God (Rom 10:17).
